THIS COURSE CANNOT TAKE WALK-INS
This course is a practical course with an emphasis on making good decisions by staying calm and safe, doing good patient assessment, establishing efficient communication channels and providing proper leadership to the group. This 16 hour class will give the students ample time to practice their first aid and leadership skills in an outdoor setting. This class will focus on practicing skills and covering patient assessment, shock and bleeding, head and spinal injuries, wounds, musculoskeletal injuries, heat and cold illnesses, and much more. The course will provide outdoor scenarios to practice and refresh first aid skills. This course and Philmont certificate is required for adult leaders attending Philmont. It is recommended, but not required, that students taking this class should take an Adult CPR prior to attending this course. This course is being offered two times in June. A current Annual Health and Medical Record parts A & B are required for this course.
There is a class limit of 24. This course is designed for adult leaders. If there is space available, older scouts or venture crewmembers can attend. Advanced registration is highly recommended due to the popularity of the class.
It is recommended, but not required, that students taking this class should take an Adult CPR prior to attending this course.
Class begins at 8:00 a.m. each day and concludes at 5:00 p.m.

Cost: $110 Additional $25 if Philmont Certificate is needed. $20 Late Fee after June , however this course usually fills in early spring.
