Exploration Camp is a fun, exciting, daily program that provides the opportunity for boys and girls to explore hobbies and educational interests during the school vacations.
Merit Badge classes offered include a variety of hobbies, interest, useful social and personal skills and more. Youth, ages 11-18 can register for full-day sessions. Youth must be 14 years of age or older to take the Personal Management session.
Trained and qualified adult supervision is provided during all program hours at the local Youth Leadership Training Center in San Leandro, conveniently located 3 blocks from the San Leandro BART station.
Program Session: 9 am - 4:00 pm (check-in @ 8:50-9 am); $65 per session/day. Lunch and an Exploration Camp water bottle will be provided for each participant. Please indicate any special dietary restrictions or allergies in your online registration. Registration is by day/session; not by week. Select one session per day when signing up. A session with a slash(/) in the title means the participants will work on both Merit Badges during the day. . There is no splitting the program. Dependent on the instructor one or the other class can be started first or they can be intermingled. There is no guarantee that one particular class will be given at one particular time during the day. We suggest to those who already have a Merit Badge for one of the double classes to take quiet work with them to do while the instruction for that class is occurring or participate in the instruction for the mutual benefit of the other Scouts. If it turns out that the class needed is completed early, then the Scout can be released to the parent early. If the Scout came on their own, we would need acknowledgement from the parent that it would be okay for the Scout to leave early. Class size will vary by session topic.
