Merit Badge subjects can be challenging, lengthy, and technical. Therefore, although not required, the Scout should consider reviewing the Merit Badge Pamphlet, workbook and requirements before attending the class.

There are requirements that cannot be addressed or completed in class. However, the prepared Scout can plan ahead and work on those requirements that need to be completed outside the class due to extended time, need to visit sites, etc. They can then bring adequate documentation for the work completed to the class for review and sign off by the instructor.

Below is a sample list of requirements that need to be fully or partially completed outside of class. It it not intended to be a complete list. Requirements covered may change depending on the group and how the session progresses through the day.
