Cub & Boy Scout Roundtable

Cub Scout & Boy Scout Roundtable Night

Fellow
Roundtablers,

Yes,
we will be meeting this month, on the 3d Tuesday (as usual), at West Portal
Lutheran (as usual), but in the Luther House (where we have our committee
meetings).

This
will be a true "Roundtable," as Scouts will gather around one table
and Cubs around another.

Here
are some points for discussion. Tell me if you have other points to
discuss.

1.
How did summer camp, or your other outdoor activities go? How will you
apply what you have learned about your unit or about others to your next year's
program?

2.
Is your unit's program for next year (September through May) rock-solid?
Do you have holes to fill? What would you like to put in those
holes? How can we help you?

3.
We will hold Spotlight on Scouting again this September, at the Roundtable on
the 16th. What will your unit put on to demonstrate its program and
features? What would you like to see other units put on?

4.
Are your unit's adult leaders trained? How can we help you get them
trained?

5.
How do you orient your new parents to your unit and get their commitment to
participate?

6.
Will you have a recruitment program this Fall to pick up additional members?

7.
Do you need / would you like to have a Unit Commissioner working with your
unit? What would you like for him/her to do? (I hear we have some
new ones just trained.)

8.
What would you like for your Roundtable Staff to include in Roundtable programs
this year?

9.
What are the big events coming up in the next few months, and how shall we best
deal with them? e.g., Popcorn sales (your unit can actually make actual
money) - unit commitment forms due August 22, Scouting for Food, the 2010
National Jamboree - 100 years (there's an informational meeting on September 25
at the YLTC), BSA night at the Giants Sept 6 (application deadline August 29),
etc.
