
To be TRAINED, you must:
• Complete YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING every two years.
• Complete THIS IS SCOUTING (or have taken New Leader Essentials) at least once during your Scouting career.

And
• Complete BOY SCOUT LEADER SPECIFIC TRAINING for your specific position. A new specific training also is required when you change leadership positions.

Our first job in Scouting must be to protect our youth from injury and abuse.
Scouting must be a safe haven for everyone.
Anyone who works with young people needs to know the facts and responsibilities of Youth Protection.
This training is REQUIRED every two years during your Scouting career.
replaced New Leader Essentials in March 2009.
This course presents an overview of Scouting, including the organization's mission, aims, and methods.
This Is Scouting also provides new leaders with a look at the resources available to them through the BSA and offers a clear understanding of Scouting's expectations of its adult leadership.
This training is REQUIRED only once during your Scouting career.
Leader position specific training is based on the leader's position. These courses are taught by informed trainers who know how to engage groups and make learning fun.
Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster Leader Specific Training is for all Scoutmasters and their assistants. Boy Scout leaders also must complete Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills training to be considered fully trained.
Troop Committee Challenge is REQUIRED for every troop committee member to complete basic training.This course helps each committee member learn and identify his or her role and responsibilities in support of the adult leaders in the unit to provide a quality troop experience for the Scouts.

This monthly meeting provides all leaders with vital Scouting information and helps your troop and boys succeed.
At least one member from your unit should attend each month.
Roundtable is the 2nd Thursday of every month from 7:00pm - 8:30pm at the
Sheriff's Training Center.

This course identifies den chief responsibilities and tasks, and describes the den chief's relationship to the adult den leaders.
