One of the best parts of being a Scout is the chance to get into the outdoors and do some camping. The San Francisco Bay Area Council offers a number of exciting camping programs for Tigers Cubs all the way through Venturing. So, take awhile to browse through the programs and decide where you want to go and, Go Camping!

Camping Facilities

The San Francisco Bay Area Council operates three outstanding camping facilities Ranchos Los Mochos in Livermore, CA; Camp Royaneh in Cazadero, CA; and Wente Scout Reservation in Willits, CA.

Rancho Los Mochos
Rancho Los Mochos, located in the hills above Livermore, CA is home to many training courses, Cub Scout camping activities and Spring Camporees. Rancho Los Mochos has many large camp areas, making it ideal for troop, as well as multi-troop functions. Campgrounds feature fire rings for ground fires (restricted use during high fire danger periods), picnic tables and piped water.

  • A Swimming Pool
  • Shower House with Flush Toilets

Camp Royaneh
camping Camp Royaneh is located in the majestic coastal redwoods near Cazadero, CA. In addition to operating six weeks of Boy Scout residence camp, two weeks of Webelos Adventure Camp, and one weekend of Family Vacation Camp, Royaneh is available for unit use throughout the year. There are 13 campsites with latrines, picnic tables, and piped water. 

Camp Royaneh's many amenities include:

  • An Archery Range
  • A Rifle Range
  • A Shotgun Range
  • Hiking Trails
  • A Swimming Pool
  • COPE Course
  • Mountain Man Area with black powder (summer camp program)
  • The Diamond R Corral horsemanship program (summer camp program)
  • Lighted amphitheater
  • Shower House with Flush Toilets
  • Kitchen and Dining Area
  • Handicap Accessible Campsites
  • 5 campsites with Villages, wooden, open air structures with bunk beds


Wente Scout Reservation

camping Wente Scout Reservation is located in hills outside of Willits, CA. The 2200 acres and the 80 acre lake offer great opportunities for camping. In addition to operating eight weeks of Boy Scout residence camp and three weekends of Family Vacation Camp, Wente Scout Reservation is available for unit use throughout the year. There are 13 campsites with latrines, picnic tables, and water.

  • Lake for swimming, great fishing, boating (canoes, rowboats, kayaks, and sailboats)
  • A climbing rock (summer camp program)
  • Mountain bikes and trails (summer camp program)
  • O’Riley’s Outpost black powder program (summer camp program)
  • The Risin’ W Corral horsemanship program (summer camp program)
  • Shower Houses with Flush Toilets
  • Kitchen and Dining Area
  • Handicap Accessible Campsites

FOS Camp Discount
When Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Venture Crews and Church of Latter Day Saints Wards attain their agreed upon goal they will receive a discount for all their members that attend the following council camping programs:
