Details: The Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) course builds and expands on the concepts and themes introduced in Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training and Varsity Coach Position-Specific Training. The course provides Scouters with the confidence to take youth into the outdoors.
This hands-on program gives adult leaders a practical introduction to the patrol method of a boy-led troop teaching many of the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors.
The following meals are included in the registration fee: Saturday lunch and dinner and Sunday breakfast.
Pre-requisite: You must have completed the Scoutmaster Position-Specific or Varsity Coach Position-Specific Training and completed and current with your Youth Protection Training.
You must be a registered BSA adult leader and participate in uniform for the training. You will need your BSA ID no. to get credit for the course.
Who should attend? Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Varsity Leaders, Committee Chair, and Committee Members.
What to bring? A confirmation letter will be emailed to you on what to bring.
Cancellation Policy: For full refund, you must cancel by 4/17/17. Otherwise, you will be assessed a $25 fee after 4/17/17.
